   Stasiuk writes, in his book "Road to Babadag", that if he displays all of his travel's photos on a table (about a thousand), he doesn't know the date they were taken but he can remember everything about each one.
   Even if the photo is just a horse on a field, he remember the exact place where it was taken and he can add that on the right side, out of the picture, there was something that he can describe thoroughly.
   Me too. In addition, thanks to my camera data, I know the exact moment that I took the picture.
   I visited Moldova during my Danubian Road Tour, and I can explain everything about all the pictures that I took there.

   Escribe Stasiuk, en su libro "De camino a Babadag", que si extiende todas sus fotos sobre una mesa (alrededor de mil), no sabría decir la fecha en que fueron tomadas, pero se acuerda de todo acerca de cada una de ellas.
   Incluso si la foto es un simple caballo en un campo, él recuerda el lugar exacto donde la sacó y puede añadir que a la derecha, fuera de la foto, había algo que él puede describir minuciosamente.
   Yo también. Además, gracias a los datos de la cámara, conozco el momento exacto en que la foto fue tomada.
   Visité Moldavia durante mi viaje por la Carretera del Danubio, y puedo explicar todo sobre cada foto que saque allí.

   My favourite travel books is definitely "Travels with Herodotus", by Ryszard Kapuscinski. The Polish writer travels, as a journalist, while he is reading "The Histories", by Herodotus.
   Kapuscinski writes about his experiences in Africa, India or China in the 20th century and tells about Herodotus' book, written in the 5th century BC, the Greco-Persian Wars, the campaigns of the Persian king Darius on the Pontus Euxinus (the Black Sea) and beyond the Istros (the Danube River).
   When I finished Kapuscinski's book I read immediately Herodotus. But none of them mention Babadag, a small city in Romania, near the Danube and next to the Black Sea.

   Mi libro de viajes favorito es sin duda "Viajes con Heródoto" de Ryszard Kapuscinski. El escritor polaco viaja, como periodista, mientras lee la "Historia" de Heródoto.
   Kapuscinski escribe sobre sus experiencias en África, India o China en el siglo XX y cuenta sobre el libro de Heródoto, escrito en el siglo V a.C., las guerras greco-persas, las campañas del rey persa Darío en el Pontus Euxinus (el mar Negro) y más allá del Istros (el río Danubio).
   Cuando terminé el libro de Kapuscinski leí inmediatamente a Heródoto. Pero ninguno de ellos menciona a Babadag, una pequeña ciudad rumana, cerca del Danubio, próxima al mar Negro.

   When I am "on the road" I like reading something related to the area I visit. Maybe a novel or a travel book, something about photography and recently about seabirds.
   I don't use GPS but maps. Many times I have lost my way but sometimes I have found something interesting while I were "lost".
   When I leave home my car is plenty of BOOKS & MAPS and the load increases during the journey.

   Cuando estoy "en la carretera" me gusta leer algo relacionado con la zona que visito. A veces una novela o un libro de viajes, algo sobre fotografía y ultimamente sobre aves marinas.
   No utilizo GPS sino mapas. Muchas veces he perdido el camino, pero a veces he encontrado algo interesante mientras andaba "perdido".
   Cuando salgo de casa mi coche va lleno de LIBROS Y MAPAS y la carga va aumentando durante el viaje.

Shetland: Selkies & Bonxies

   During my tour around Shetland I spent a lot of time taking photos of SELKIES & BONXIES (Seals and Great Skuas).
   It was wonderful going to search Selkies and approaching them carefully to take pictures. It was amazing to stay in the middle of the steppes on the cliffs taking photos of Bonxies while I was watching their powerful flight.
   Really, it was more interesting "to stay there" than the pictures I took, but the photos are in the computer and the memories remain only in my brain.

   Durante mi viaje por las Shetland pasé muchas horas sacando fotos de SELKIS y BONXIS (Focas y Págalos Grandes).
   Fue estupendo ir en busca de Selkis y aproximarse a ellas despacio para fotografiarlas. Fue emocionante estar en medio de la estepa de los acantilados sacando fotos de Bonxis mientras observaba su poderoso vuelo.
   Realmente, fue más interesante "estar allí" que las fotos que tomé, pero las fotos están en el ordenador y los recuerdos permanecen sólo en el cerebro.
