    A few weeks ago I was thinking about what kind of photos I would take in my next journey. I would like something... different.
   Finally I decided to be in a different position on the road: DRIVING ON THE LEFT.

   While I make the arrangements for my next travel, I look at the photos that I have taken along thousands of kilometers on the European roads and I think about the kind of photos  I could take this time.
   I have shot from the middle of the road, from its left edge, from its right hard shoulder.
   And when I have been in Ukraine I photographed The Road in Motion.

   Mientras hago los preparativos para mi próximo viaje, reviso las fotos que he tomado a lo largo de miles de kilómetros por las carreteras europeas y pienso en el tipo de fotos que haré esta vez.
   He sacado fotos desde el medio de la carretera, desde el lado izquierdo, desde la cuneta derecha.
   Y cuando estuve en Ucrania, fotografié La Carretera en Movimiento.

La Ruta a la Carretera del Danubio

2005 - 2009




Crossing rivers and frontiers,
passing through towns and villages,
drinking coffees and resting in hotel rooms,
filling up in more than Twentysix Gasoline Stations,
...that's life on the route to Danube Road.

Cruzar ríos y fronteras,
atravesar ciudades y pueblos,
tomar cafés y dormir en hoteles,
repostando en más de Veintiseis Gasolineras,
...esa es la vida en la ruta a la Carretera del Danubio.

   If you look for a road that crosses Europe you will not find any road but a blue line from East to West, from Central Europe until the Black Sea. That is the "Danube Road".

   Between 2005 and 2009 I travelled to the "Wet Road" six times. This is the beginning of that long journey.

 

  Si buscamos una carretera que atraviese Europa no encontraremos ninguna, solamente una línea azul que va de Oeste a Este, desde Europa Central hasta el Mar Negro. Esa es la "Carretera del Danubio".
   Entre 2005 y 2009 viajé a la "Carretera Mojada" seis veces. Este es el comienzo de aquel largo viaje.
